At the threshold of a Fourth Industrial Revolution, a combination of factors will cause business model disruptions triggering a simultaneous impact on the employment landscape over the coming years. The changes will affect the employment scenery across various industries, ranging from significant job creation to job displacement, and from heightened labor productivity to widening skills gaps. As a reaction to this volatile and unpredictable work environment, where individuals are compelled to mind their own careers and stable long-term employment is not granted for anyone, vocational psychology, educational institutions and educators are urged to address the issues of employability.The current paper discusses the reasons leading up to the evolving world of employment and the stances/options that institutions and individuals can take to tackle the situation.Információk a szerzőről
Zsuzsanna E. Horváth
Zsuzsánna E. Horváth PhD is an educator, consultant and researcher with over 20 years of experience in professional development, education and training both in the private and public sphere. Her PhD thesis is currently under examination at the University of Southern Queensland, Australian Collaboratory of Career Development and Learning for Living. Her focus of research is articulated around employability, career motivation, youth entrepreneurship and active citizenship behavior. She has been a senior lecturer of management courses at the Faculty of Commerce, Tourism and Hospitality at the Budapest Business School. She advised the National Center for Vocational Education Research in Australia, where she won a prestigious research award in her field. She is currently working as an autonomous TVET advisor and foresight trainer.
