Abstract

Covid19, which started in 2019 and continues to affect us today, has brought many changes to the world of education, including higher education. With the return of face-to-face education, it is a common experience that students are less motivated, and it is difficult to encourage them. In our research, we examined the differences in the types defined by the MBTI personality test, and which motivational methods are more successful. Our research consisted of two elements, preliminary qualitative research, and then quantitative research. The qualitative research took place in the form of focus group discussions. The conversations provided input from the student side in the subject area of motivation, based on the processing of which the questionnaire used in our quantitative research was prepared for the second phase of the research. In the first step of the quantitative research, the students filled out the MBTI test and then answered the set of motivational questions. From the results of the research, we found that we can motivate different types of people with different methods. In addition to the methods of learning and teaching, the environment of the university, the joint programs outside the school schedule, and the personal relationship between the teacher and the student also play a major role in motivation.
